Back up and sync with iCloud
Your training doesn't only live on one phone anymore. Your programme, your sessions and your Tracker history are kept safe in your own private iCloud and stay in sync across your devices.* It's your own iCloud account, which only you can reach.
What it does
With iCloud backup on, Strathlon quietly keeps a copy of your data in your personal iCloud account and mirrors it between your devices. Log a session on your iPhone at the gym and it's already there when you open the app again later, even if you're on a new iPhone. The data goes straight into your own iCloud, where only you can reach it.
On by default
Backup is on by default. If you'd rather nothing left your device, turn it off in Settings; you can turn it back on whenever you like.
What syncs
When it's on, these are backed up and kept in sync across your devices:
- Your programme. The workout plan you're following, wherever you are in it.
- Your sessions. The training you've logged.
- Your Tracker history. Your record over time.
One thing is deliberately left out. Your cycle data is not part of the backup: your dates, flow, symptoms and period history are not copied to iCloud. (Separately from backup, two cycle-derived things can reach your AI coach if you switch them on: an eased calorie target and a general phase label. The Privacy page sets out exactly what and when.)
A new phone, or a fresh install
This is where it earns its keep. Get a new iPhone, or delete and reinstall the app, and you don't start from scratch. Sign in with the same Apple ID and the first screen offers Welcome back: one tap restores your profile, programme progress, Tracker history, saved meal plans, schedule and holiday breaks. Prefer a clean slate? Choose Start fresh and nothing is restored: your iCloud copy is left untouched.
iCloud backup and sync comes with the app. If you'd like the detail on how your data is handled, our Privacy page spells it out, and the User guide shows you where to switch it off or on.
